HOW TO REMOVE THE DOOR GLASS FROM A DODGE STRATUS
Applies to: DODGE STRATUS (2001-2006)
Recommended Tools
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- 10mm Wrench
Instructions
-
1
We’ll start with the screw down inside the door handle. There should be a small plastic cover hiding the screw here but they are missing on this car. A small flathead screwdriver will pop them right out of the way.
-
2
Next is the screw behind the door handle - take your flathead and gently pry the handle up to pop it out.
-
3
Disconnect the electrical connector on the window switch.
-
4
Move down to the bottom of the door and remove two Phillips screws.
-
5
Once those are out, we can pop the door panel free of the plastic clips with a trim tool, Phillips screwdriver or a swift pull on the panel itself, whatever suits you best.
-
6
With the inner panel loose, take your flathead screwdriver to unclip the door latch lever and pop it free.
-
7
Once that’s done set the panel aside and move to the inner door skin.

If the plastic vapor barrier is good enough shape and it’s warm enough outside, you may be able to use a razor to cut barrier away along the outer edge and save it. In this case however, the plastic had become so brittle that even the slightest touch would cause it to crumble away. Oh well, if there’s no saving it don’t sweat it. Remove it and let’s move on.

9
With this window, we don’t need power to access the bolts holding the window in place. If you do need power, EricTheCarGuy has a great tip on how to make create power on the yard (see below for video).
-
10
Next, we remove the 3 10 mm bolts here that hold the track in place.
-
11
Once that’s loose, we can lower the window down to get access to the 2 bolts that secure it to the bracket.
-
12
Remove the lower seal by simply prying it up and pulling it away from the door. Pull the rest of the window seal away from the door the same way.
-
13
Finally, unclip the outer trim piece to create a little more clearance, and then we can slip the window out of the door.
